Notes from March 7, 2007 Meeting

Evaluation and Learning of March 3, 2007 Summit:

Overall:

We need to email evaluation to Summit leaders

The turn out was excellent especially given the early morning snow. There was a great mix of the parish various committees represented. The energy in the room and in the table conversation was excellent.

The table conversation was good.

Presentations:

The presentations were good with the finance going a little long because of the questions and people growing understanding of the budget and impact to the parish.

For some there was too much detail and yet that was to be expected given that the presentations was based on numbers.

People felt like they truly understood the budget and appreciated the openness and accountability around where the parish money is spent. The participants recommended that the entire parish here the financial presentation so they understand the parish budget.

The demographic graphs were helpful in painting a picture.

Key Insights:

Expand the number of people at the summit to include staff, Stewardship Committee, teachers and people on the updated list. The more people that are involved the greater the ownership in the parish direction.

Role of Volunteer Coordinator- There is a concern that people will feel this person should be the one recruiting and not continue gaining members for their committee and that she is a support.

Summit Report: Teri will email to participants.

Communication about the Summit:

Fr. Don placed an insert in the bulletin

Lisa will put the reports and material on the web site

Teri sending report to the Summit participants.

Next Steps in planning process to do list:

Fr. Don will gather information on governance from the Archdiocese and send to people

Mark will send to Lisa the templates and sample copies for her to distribute to the committee

Fr. Don and Mark will mock up the Building and Grounds Committee for the April Meeting.

When the plans are completed we will develop a parish direction book.

Next Meeting is April 11, 2007 because of spring break.
